September 14, 2001 (Touching Bases)
Hi, All.
Just a note to let you all know that all of us on the Model A tour are safe and
well -- and having a great time. It's comforting to be in an area of the world
which is very supportive of Americans at this time. We (Jay, Pat, Gordon and
Kendra currently here) hope all of you and your friends and loved ones are OK
and not worrying about us!
Did zou kow that German kezboards are different that American-English ones
are_
It's raining right now in Oberammergau, Germany, having a great time and the cars
are running fine. Out of the 100 people in our two car groups, there are only 6
of us in our current hotel. It's really quaint, cute and quiet! We think we're
really lucky to be here.
We have photos to send and stories to tell you later about breakdowns (auto, not
mental!), but only one car out of the original 50 has had to be sent home. The
driver/navigator have rented a modern car so they can continue the trip with us.
Food has been wonderful. Kendra says her Dad is still an industrial-strength
snorer! Jay's back has been sore, but he's still singing "Zippity Doo Dah!"
PS to Bob: Happy birthday! Could you please call Dorothy/Mom to make sure she
can access the note. Pot holders are good collateral!
Love from,
Jay, Pat, Gordon & Kendra
